The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) is designed specifically to help patients in Wales who, for medical reasons, cannot get to and from their hospital appointments by any other means.
If you do not have a qualifying medical need that prevents you from travelling independently, you will not be eligible for this service.
Only use NEPTS if you genuinely have no other way to travel and help ensure that patients with serious medical needs are not left without the essential transport they depend on for their care.
If you are not eligible for NEPTS, please consider the following alternative ways to attend your appointment:
- Asking family or friends if they can take you?
- Contact my Health Journey Traveline Cymru helps you plan your public transport journeys and find the best routes to the hospital.
- Using public transport? PLEASE NOTE: THESE SERVICES ARE NOT FREE OF CHARGE AND MAY BE CHARGEABLE. You may be able to claim back some or all of the travel costs from your local Health Board, for more information please visit Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS) - NHS
