Freedom of Information

Entitlement to Information

The FOI Act was introduced so that public authorities, like the NHS are seen to be open and transparent in their business processes and to promote a culture of openness and accountability. The Act ensures that any person making a request for information to a public authority is entitled-

  1. To be informed in writing whether the public authority holds the information specified, and
  2. If that is the case, to have that information communicated to him.

Information is available under the following:

  • Data Protection Act - Personal Information
  • EIR - Environment Information
  • FOI - General Information

Under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000, the Trust has a duty to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme for the publication of information relating to the Trust. The purpose of the Act is to promote greater openness by public authorities, of which the Trust is one.

The Welsh Ambulance Service’s Publication Scheme is a guide to the information routinely published by the Trust.

Under the Act you are entitled to request a range of information about the Trust. To submit and FOI request please email it to FOI.amb@wales.nhs.uk.
