Damon joined the Mid Glamorgan Ambulance service (the Welsh Ambulance Service since 1998) in 1993 and started work as a member of the Patient Transfer Service; his initial contract was for a 15 hour week.

In 1996 he qualified as an Emergency Medical Technician and following several years in that role he qualified as a Paramedic in 1999. Damon is currently based in Porthcawl ambulance station.

He has been a UNISON steward since 2001 and is currently the branch Chair.  Damon is passionate about representing the interests of the workforce at all levels.
