Chief Operating Officer

Lee Brooks is Chief Operating Officer at the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust, with executive responsibility for operational delivery of services provided by the Trust. 

Lee rejoined the Trust in 2019 and has held several senior leadership positions before being appointed Chief Operating Officer. He holds a postgraduate qualification in Board Practice and Directorship from Henley Business School.

With more than a decade of executive leadership experience in ambulance and health services, Lee has worked across Wales, England, New Zealand and Australia, including as Executive Director of Operations for Metropolitan Adelaide in SA Ambulance Service in South Australia. His experience spans emergency and urgent care, ambulance operations, contact centres, service transformation and organisational leadership.

In recognition of his service during the Covid-19 pandemic, Lee was awarded the Queen's Ambulance Service Medal in the 2021 New Year Honours. He was also admitted as a Member of the Order of St John in 2023 for his contribution to developing volunteer responder schemes in Wales.
