Director of People

Carl Kneeshaw was appointed to the post of Director of People in November 2024. He joins us from Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, where he was Deputy Director for People.

Carl comes with a wealth of experience in strategic HR management and organisational leadership having held senior leadership positions at HM Prison Service, the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Work and Pensions.

With a strong background in leading highly complex organisations, managing and delivering large scale transformational projects, Carl is well-equipped to guide our People Services, Workforce Planning, Education and Development, Occupational Health and Wellbeing functions, as we continue on our journey towards our vision for the future of WAST.

For the next two years, Carl will collaborate closely with our Director of Culture Change, Angie Lewis, ensuring that our people and cultural goals are seamlessly aligned.
