Dr Umar Ahmad is a highly experienced clinician, serving for the past decade as a Partner at his GP practice in Nottingham, he plays a key role in both clinical leadership and service delivery.

In addition, Dr Ahmad is the Clinical Director of Arrow Primary Care Network, a collaboration of five GP surgeries providing care to approximately 40,000 patients. Under his leadership, the network has pioneered innovative approaches to patient care, including the integration of dedicated mental health teams within general practice for both children and adults. The network has also expanded multidisciplinary working by incorporating paramedics, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and social prescribers into primary care services.

Appointed Non-Executive Director for the Trust in April 2026, Dr Ahmad also holds further leadership roles within the local GP Federation and is an active member of the Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee. He also brings valuable board-level experience and currently serves on the Board of Nottinghamshire University Hospitals NHS Trust.

He has a strong interest in preventative medicine and is particularly focused on leveraging digital solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes within healthcare organisations.
