THE Welsh Ambulance Service has appointed a new Director of People.
Carl Kneeshaw, Deputy Director for People at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, will join the service on 01 November.
Meanwhile, Angela Lewis, currently the Trust’s Director of People and Culture, will move into a newly created fixed-term Director of Culture Change role.
Carl comes with a wealth of experience in strategic HR management and organisational leadership having held senior leadership positions at HM Prison Service, the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Work and Pensions.
Jason Killens, Chief Executive at the Welsh Ambulance Service, said: “With his strong background in leading highly complex organisations, managing and delivering large-scale transformational projects, Carl is well-equipped to guide our People Services, Workforce Planning, Education and Development and Occupational Health and Wellbeing functions as we continue on our journey towards our vision for the future of WAST.
“This appointment is part of a broader strategic decision to ensure we have the right focus and leadership in place to support both our people and our cultural transformation goals.
“Meanwhile, in her new role as Director of Culture Change, Angela will concentrate on driving forward our ambitious cultural transformation agenda, a move that reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive and safe organisational culture.
“This is an exciting time for WAST, and over the next two years, Angela and Carl will work closely to ensure that our people and cultural goals align seamlessly, which ultimately, will enhance the quality of care and service we provide.”
Of his appointment, Carl said: “I feel privileged to be joining an organisation so dedicated to its people and patients.
“In my role, my focus will be on ensuring that colleagues are equipped with the skills and resources they need, investing in our people to create a strong foundation for WAST’s future success.
