New Non-Executive Director appointed to Welsh Ambulance Service Board

THE Welsh Ambulance Service has appointed a new Non-Executive Director to its Board.

The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care has appointed Jayne Beeslee for four years, beginning her term on 19 August 2024.

In addition to her role as a Non-Executive Director, Jayne, who is based in South Wales, will also be Chair of the Trust’s Finance and Performance Committee.

Colin Dennis, Chair of the Welsh Ambulance Service, said: “Congratulations to Jayne on her appointment.


“Jayne is an experienced public servant having operated at an executive level across UK Government, devolved nations and in a diverse range of public bodies. 

“I speak for the whole Board when I say we are looking forward to working with Jayne to realise our strategic ambitions.”

Jayne has led public service operational delivery for central government and its agencies creating new organisations and innovative operating models. 

She has professional qualifications and experience in the diverse fields of human resource and organisational development, finance and civil contingency, developing a blend of leadership, tested in both uncertain and volatile environments. 

Jayne has been a Fellow of the CIPD since 2006 and is an experienced MSP Practitioner engaged in business transformation, including ICT-enabled programmes focused on core people services.

Jayne also undertakes non-executive roles in both the education sector in Wales and in UK Public Service Pensions as well as being an independent reviewer of major government programmes which she combines with a broader career portfolio.  

Jayne said: “It is a privilege to be appointed to the Board of Welsh Ambulance Service.

“The service is under intense pressure and whilst there are undoubtedly challenges ahead, I am looking forward to applying my experience to add value to the Trust’s activities and help it achieve its strategic objectives in what is a critical public service in Wales.”
