ONE of Wales’ leading people services professionals is set to join the Welsh Ambulance Service as its new Director of Workforce and Organisational Development.
Angela Lewis, who is currently Director of People Transformation at Companies House, will be joining the Trust in September, with responsibility for people services, organisational development and professional education and training.
Angela has a 30-year career in leading high performing teams, with a very people-centred approach to empowering leaders and creating the right culture that allows everyone to bring their whole self to work.
Prior to joining Companies House, Angela worked at the Office of National Statistics, Cardiff Metropolitan University (then UWIC), the Metropolitan Police and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) and has a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management.
Speaking about her appointment, Angela said: “I am delighted to be joining the Welsh Ambulance Service at this critical point in its development.
“The pandemic has had a real impact for NHS workers on the frontline, so it’s important to me that we continue to keep supporting and taking care of our colleagues, as well as looking forward to new opportunities as we continue to develop our services.
“I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the team, and building my knowledge and understanding of this flagship NHS organisation.”
Jason Killens, Chief Executive at the Welsh Ambulance Service, added: “It’s great to welcome Angela on board and to have attracted such a high calibre candidate to WAST.
“I have no doubt she will make a significant contribution to our organisation as we move into this next important phase in our development.”
