Welsh Ambulance Service to host bi-monthly Board meeting this week

THE Welsh Ambulance Service will host its bi-monthly Board meeting this week.

The public can join on Zoom to hear senior leaders discuss the recent industrial action by ambulance workers, as well as performance and plans for the future.

There will also be an opportunity for the public to pose a question to the Board.

Vice Chair Dr Kevin Davies said: “Board meetings are a great way to discover more about our ambulance service, including how we’re trying to manage performance during one of the most difficult chapters in our history.

“We accept that performance in December was very poor, and while there have been encouraging signs in recent days on performance, more industrial action and winter weather means we’re not out of the woods yet.

“We respect the right of Trade Union members to strike and are working closely with colleagues to ensure we can continue to provide the safest service we can to the most acutely unwell patients in Wales, in particular ahead of the 06 February action.

“The Board meeting will be an opportunity to hear more about this, as well as our plans to improve the way we deliver services to patients and improve the workplace for our people.”
