WAST Awards 2022 shortlist revealed

THE Welsh Ambulance Service has revealed the shortlist for its annual WAST Awards.

More than 250 nominations were submitted across sixteen categories, including Team of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Learning and Innovation and Inspiring Others.

The public were invited to cast a vote in six categories, while a panel of cross-service leaders and staff representatives determined the shortlist for the others.

Chief Executive Jason Killens said: “We could not function as a service if it were not for our staff and volunteers, so it’s really important that we celebrate their contributions.

“Often, our people don’t realise that what they do is special, so the WAST Awards are an opportunity to pause and reflect on their achievements and say a big thank you.

“The calibre of nominations this year was superb, and while everyone is a worthy winner in my eyes, the shortlist really is the
best of our best.

“I’d like to thank all those who took the time to submit a nomination or cast a vote, and extend a huge congratulations to everyone who made the shortlist.”

Winners will be announced at the virtual WAST Awards on Thursday 30 November from 6.00pm-7.30pm.
